Weddings“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” — Genesis 2:24
Baker Memorial United Methodist Church is a popular venue for weddings, and other special events and religious ceremonies. We’d love to help you plan this special and blessed day.
We hope this time will be a rich experience as you prepare to embark on this wonderful journey together. We, the clergy and staff of Baker Memorial, want to be helpful as you prepare for marriage and plan your wedding.
We allot three hours for the special day. This provides the time for preparations (1 hour), the ceremony (½-1 hour), and post-wedding events (balance of the 3 hours). To create enough space for ceremonies taking place before or after, this time frame must be followed. However, if there are no other ceremonies that day, you may ask the ministerial staff about arriving earlier or staying a little later.
Planning your day
To schedule a wedding…
please download and submit the Wedding Reservation Request by clicking here. Feel free to check our BUMC online calendar or call the church office to see if a date is open. To officially request the date, however, the Reservation Request must be submitted. Baker Memorial Church is a popular place to be married, so the earlier you check the calendar and submit your form, the better. Also, given Baker’s downtown location, good to keep in mind that there are some festival weekends where parking can be challenging. The office staff can help you schedule around those events.
“So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
